Steven Todd Utley was born on April 30th, 1961 in Rochelle. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on June 29th, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.
Steve was a caring, loving, compassionate man with a wonderful, witty sense of humor. He loved his Harley, good music, spending time with his family and extended family and was an avid pool and Euchre player. He was always the calm in the middle of any storm, was a friend to all and will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.
Steve and Cindy enjoyed their lives together, taking trips on their Harley, having many years of long conversations, and watching Bears and Cubs games together. Cindy will miss her soulmate forever. Steve graduated from NIU and went on to be a Nuclear Station Operator at the Byron Exelon station for 27 years.
Steve is survived by the love of his life, Cindy Himes, of Stillman Valley; his son, Jeremy (Stephanie) Utley of Walker, La.; his mother, Lois Utley of Osage Beach, Mo.; his daughter, Stephanie Utley and grandsons: Braxton and Jace Utley of Davis Junction; his stepdaughters: Melissa (Chris) Kremske of Ore City, Texas, and Erin (Brian) Horton of Orlando, Fla., five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, James V. Utley and brother, Tim Utley.
