Wilma L. Seymour

BYRON – Wilma L. Seymour, passed away on Thursday June 20, 2019 at Generations at Neighbors in Byron. She was born in Rockvale Township on April 20, 1941 the daughter of Walter and Lillian (Moats) McNames.

She married R. Bruce Seymour on August 10, 1963 in Byron. She was a member of Valley Covenant Church in Stillman Valley. Wilma loved to play bingo and do word search puzzles. She enjoyed watching her soaps on TV, Wheel of Fortune, and Steve Harvey host Family Feud. She loved having visitors and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Reed of Thompson, Ill., Allan Gates of Byron, and Gary Seymour of Loves Park; sister, Susan Nordman of Mount Morris; grandchildren, Amber Seymour, Jakob Seymour, Jason Gates, Tina Gates, and Jeremy Bausch; 3 great grandchildren; and close cousin and best friend Barbara McNames.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband R. Bruce, siblings Robert McNames, Mary Jeffries, and twin sisters, Iva and Eva McNames.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron with Pastor Rick Lindholtz of Valley Covenant Church officiating.  Visitation was held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be held at Byron Cemetery.
