BYRON — The Byron High School football team received recognition last night during the City Council Meeting for their IHSA State Championship victory during the 2023 season. The Tigers completed a perfect (14-0) record with a 69-7 in the Class 3A Championship Game against Mt. Carmel. Byron set several state records which included points and touchdowns in one season. This was Byron's third state championship in the program’s history. Street signs will be placed along Tower Road and Colfax Street.
