The Stillman Valley High School varsity softball team edged out Oregon 2-0 in a pitcher’s duel on Thursday, April 10.

Hannah Bechtel and Lily Shepeck competed in figure skating and represented Byron on the 815 Edge Team.

Forreston High School senior Aubrey Sanders signed to continue her academics and her softball career at Carthage College next year. Sanders signed her LOI during a ceremony earlier this month.

Byron High School co-op swimming and diving team standout Addison Bausman was recognized with ISDA All-State honors.

The Stillman Valley varsity baseball team routed Polo 21-2 in Ogle County action on Tuesday, April 1.

Five Oregon High School track and field athletes earned medals during the 2025 Illinois Top Times Indoor State Championship at the Shirk Center in Bloomington on March 28 and 29.

The Oregon High School varsity girls soccer team finished first in the Harvard Invitational on Saturday, March 22. The Hawks defeated Rockford Auburn 5-0 and played to a 2-2 draw against Harvard. Oregon won the tiebreaker on goals allowed.

The Polo High School varsity baseball team fell 11-1 against Pearl City on Wednesday, March 26. Korbin Cavanaugh went 1-for-2 with one single and one RBI for the Marcos, while Dawson Foster went 1-for-2 with one double and one run scored. 

The Oregon High School varsity softball team earned a 6-0 shutout win over River Ridge/Scales Mound on Friday, March 21.

The Forreston High School varsity softball team blew out Ashton-Franklin Center for a 22-4 victory on Monday, March 17.

Ogle County athletes earned medalist honors during the IWCOA Fresh-Soph & Girls Sectional at Sterling on Sunday. Wrestlers from Byron, Oregon, Rochelle, Polo and Stillman Valley advanced to the IWCOA Fresh-Soph & Girls State Championship meet.

Eight members of the Stillman Valley Wrestling Club competed in the 2025 IKWF State Championship at the Peoria Civic Center over the weekend. Four athletes earned medalist honors and Evan Ross brought home a state championship in the Boys Intermediate 55 Division.

Ogle County was well represented during the 2025 IESA State Championship at Northern Illinois University’s Convocation Center over the weekend, when middle-schoolers from Byron, Oregon, Stillman Valley and Polo earned medalist honors for their wrestling skills.
